This event was the 4th best event of my life (next to getting married and the birth of Bo and Vallery), so to call this my "superbowl" is an understatment, but its the best word that I can find to describe it. Ronnie Dunn opened up for George so it was an honor to see another Legend of country for the first time.
I felt so empowered walking up to the very front knowing that I was going to be within feet of George the whole night. It was a dream come true. After Ronnie sang, I made a quick bathroom run because I didn't want to miss one moment of George (I also kept my drinking to a minimum so I could remember every moment). The stage is in the center of the arena and he walks to the four corners throughout to sing. The first time he walked to our corner he looked down and was literally singing to me. I don't think the smile left my face the whole time. After he left our corner I sat down and tears started rolling down my face. Slightly embarrassing, but I was so overwhelmed with emotion. I know, I know I sound like a crazed fan, but he is the King of Country.
In 1993 I got paid $5/week for my allowance and that year he came out with his box set "Strait out of the Box". As soon as it came out my mom drove me to Pamida in Red Oak and I put that puppy on layaway. So each week I would put my $5 allowance toward my $49.99 purchase. That is how long I have been a true George fan since I was little girl. We grew up on a white cassette tape with "Fireman", "Ocean Front Property", "The Chair", and "All My Exes Live in Texas".
George sang to me a few more times and also sang to Josh once during the song "How Bout Them Cowgirls" and then looked at me again right after. It was soooo awesome!!
So all in all, my hubs in the bomb and made his wifey so happy! Thank you so much Joshua for making all of my dreams come true. Love you!
