20 weeks it is!

We have hit the halfway point!!  This week I have really started to feel "pregnant" with a bit of an achey back, and my comfy clothes that used to be comfy are getting a little snug. I finally went out and bought some maternity jeans and a couple shirts, now if the weather would cool down so I can wear them:).  It seems as though this week my bump as doubled in size, so I am definitely looking forward to see what the next month brings!

20 weeks
We got to see our little man again today.  It is so exciting to be able to watch him squirm, twist, and turn in there.  It also eases a little bit of my anxiety because I haven't really felt a "kick" yet, so it makes me worried he's doing ok!  They checked all his vital organs again and said how healthy he looks which makes us extremely happy.  He weighed approximately 13oz.  I had gained another 4lbs this month (total of 7 thus far), but I was a little worried they were going to tell me take it easy because it seemed like to me I had gained about 10:).  Here are a couple pictures showing some love to Daddy!

It is crazy to think about how much you love someone even before actually meeting them.  My heart melts everytime I see a picture of him.  In such a short time he has given our lives so much more meaning, more than we ever thought possible.

Josh and I cannot express how excited we are for the upcoming months.  We have so much to look forward to and be grateful for.  I am especially thankful for him.  He has started a new case at work which has kept him away from home more than what we would like, but we are both adjusting and remind eachother that it is only temporary.  We are looking forward to a busy weekend and upcoming week!

For those who do not know...

Josh and I are having a baby!!!  The estimated time of arrival for this blessing is December 3, 2011.  We could not be happier and are looking forward to starting this new chapter in our lives.  We found out the news about our little bean on April 6, 2011.  We had thought there would be a possibility of this happening because we were on a Cruise for a week in March and the timing couldn't have been more perfect.  I had felt super tired and just a little off, so THREE tests later (that's right 3...) we had confirmed that we were going to be a family of 3:).

We had our 10 week appt (May 6th) and everything looked great!  We had our first ultrasound to confirm the little one and we were so excited to be able to see it!  We even got to watch them move their legs and arms a bit.  It definitely made everything seem more real.

10 weeks

The next few weeks flew by!  We had our 13 week (May 27th) appt to check for down syndrome and we also had our next 4 week appt while we were there.  I had actually lost a half a pound which was surprising because my waist line was disappearing more and more every day! Everything was negative for the down syndrome test, so we are very blessed to be having a healthy baby!!

13 weeks

We had a "check-up" at 17 weeks (June 24th) and were able to hear the heartbeat, which always makes us happy:).  I had gained 4lbs at this point (1lb a week), which the Dr. said was right on track!  We were pretty anxious to find out the sex (and by "we" I mean Josh, I was still debating whether or not I wanted to find out) so we wanted to find out a little sooner than our 21 week appt.  A good friend of ours has her own clinic (Prenatal Vistions in Des Moines) and does ultrasounds and truly makes it an experience.  She took some great 3D pictures and also recorded the whole ultrasound on a DVD for us to take home and share with family.  So just shy of 18 weeks we found out that God has blessed us a sweet baby BOY!  I think the look on both of our faces was priceless.  Everyone, including me, had thought that he was a she, but turns out I need to work on my mother's intuition:).  I've said for as long as I can remember that I wanted a boy first, because growing up with an older brother I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. So whether the next is a boy or girl, they will have an "older brother" to look after them.

June 30th

We have been busy these past few months making adjustments for our new arrival.  Between getting the nursery ready for painting, deciding on daycare, and conversations based soley on our new little man time has flown by so far, and we are almost halfway there!
