24 weeks

How far along? 24 weeks 2 days
Total weight gain/loss: 13 lbs gained
Maternity clothes? Yep...got a few new shirts too!
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleeping good and sleeping a lot.  I don't know what the deal is with this baby girl, but she has been wiping me dry of energy.  I am typically sleeping before 10 o clock (if not 930).  I feel bad for Josh because he is basically on his own after that.

Best moment this week: We had another check up and the heartbeat is good and I'm right on track.
Miss Anything?  I miss wearing my normal clothes.  There is so much cute stuff that I want to buy, but I have to resist!!
Movement: I am really starting to feel her this past week.  It isn't just flutters, but it is almost painful.  I can feel either arms or legs.  I don't remember it being like that the first time around...
Food cravings: Nothing in particular, just a lot of everything!
Anything making you queasy or sick: There have been several occassions where I feel like I am about to pass out and get extremely light headed, but thankfully it only lasts a few minutes before it disappears.  It happend a couple times with Bo, but I have gotten it almost every day this week.
Have you started to show yet: Yes, let's face it...I am huge:)

Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In, but barely...this is kind of foreign to me because it never stuck out like this with Bo.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
Looking forward to: Painting Bo's room and I purchased my first decor for baby g's room, so I am officially locked in on the colors.  Post to follow :)

One thing that I have gotten with her is a couple lines on my face.  It is called the "mask of pregnancy".  Nothing too major, it just kind of looks like I have bags.  I noticed it earlier this week, but just thought I looked tired.  As I looked closer I noticed that it was actual pigment change in my skin.  But not to worry, this should disappear after her arrival.

what Bo has been up to...

warning!  this post has picture overload of my adorable son...

Our little guy is growing by the day and turning into such a big boy.  His most favorite thing in the world to do is to read books.  He has certain books he likes mommy to read and certain ones for daddy.  I hope this trend keeps up because he may be one smart cookie!  He tries repeating everything you say and it is the cutest thing.  He can say ball, dog, spongebob (sort of), mama, dada, papa, thank you, truck, baby (whoohoo) and some others.  We are working all the time on Gramma, Nick and Justin.  He attempts everything that you tell him to say, so that is all we can ask:).

He is also getting very good with animal sounds thanks to the book Brown Bear.  He knows duck, bird, sheep, horse, brown bear, dog, and cat.  He can also answer yes or no to questions that you ask him.  Which is nice when he gets grouchy because then you know if he is getting hungry or tired.  When you ask if he is hungry and he shakes his head yes, we tell him to go get his chair he will run right over and start pushing his high chair over to his spot.  If you ask him if he is ready to go night night he will run back to his room and ask to be put into his crib.  Which that is going to be so difficult when we get his big boy room ready, however, I know he is going to love his new bed and all the room he has.  He also knows when he has a dirty diaper and knows where he has to go to get changed.  He is learning quickly what can and cannot be put into the trash.  We are working on getting rid of the binky, and if he has it and you ask him to give it to you he will 99% of the time.

He also gives you hugs and kisses on demand which I love!  He gives my belly kisses and I try to tell him that sissy is in there.  Even though I know he has no idea what's going on and his world his going to be turned upside down upon her arrival.  It will definitely be an adjustment, but he will be a great big brother.

He is slowly not wanting to wake up in the mornings, which is actually pretty cute:).  For instance, when he wakes up he usually just lays in his bed for quite a while until someone goes in to get him.  Sometimes you can hear him start talking (usually saying "mama, mama").  He will sit up in bed, but the instant you turn the light on he buries his head in the pillow.  And then when you go to pick him up he will lay back down.  I think it takes him awhile to wake up like someone else in the family (not naming names, but like ____ like son:))

One last obsession is the toothbrush!  He loves the electric toothbrush.  Everytime Josh and I are brushing our teeth he insists that he has too as well.

basketball for a cause

The first weekend in March we headed back to Villisca to spend some time with family and more importantly Josh and Nick were playing in a basketball tournament that benefitted a young boy (a little older than Bo) named Emmett with Leukemia.  It makes my heart ache thinking about what this family is going through.  This family has more strength that I could ever imagine.  With the parents each coming from small communities (one from Villisca and one from Stanton) there has been so much support and many raffles, auctions, and benefits for the family.  Gotta love SW Iowa, I know I do:).

I was little bummed that the 5K was cancelled that morning due to snow and ice, but very happy that there was such a big turnout for the 3 on 3 bball tournament. Bo, Gramma, and I headed up to the gym that morning to watch Nick and Josh's team play. Bo was a little hesitant at first and didn't want down from anyone's lap, but once he started playing with the basketball balls he couldn't get enough! I know we will have a sports lover for sure between my love and his dad's love for sports. The guys did very well in the tournament, they lasted longer than Bo could. He eventually fell asleep on me, so Gramma took him home for a nap around 130. It was a very fun day benefitting a very special little boy.

he made a friend :)

tired boy
The next day we had planned on going to see Justin, Sydney and Owen that morning, but didn't make it over until that afternoon.  Bo snuck a morning nap in on us, which usually he only naps once a day.  The boys had a blast of course, and it was fun to see Owen and how much he had changed since it had been since Xmas!!
