Memorial Day Weekend

We had a busy, fun-filled, rainy memorial day weekend!  Saturday we hung out in the morning and then got ready for our first wedding of the year.  We decided to take Bo since I wouldn't be drinking and we thought, why not?  Well, I think that might be the last time we don't get a babysitter for the reception at least.  Have you ever taken a toddler to a sit down dinner reception that has real plates and coffee cups, and easy access to knives and forks??  Let's just say I am surprised nothing was broken by the end of the night.  Granted, Bo was a pretty good boy, but he likes to be on the go, go, go all the time.  Usually weddings are good times to catch up with friends that maybe you haven't seen in awhile or just have some adult interaction, we will keep that in mind next time:).

how stinkin' cute is he?  And of course he wore his cowboy boots with this outfit.

33 weeks, baby's first wedding!
The next day we got a little surprise from Gramma and Papa (once again).  They decided to drive up late that afternoon.  We met them out some property that Josh and I are very close to owning!!  More pics to come on that:).  We had planned on going to a surprise party for a friend, so we thought we would leave Bo with Gramma and Papa while we got to spend some time together.  They loved spending the night with Bo and we enjoyed spending time with eachother.  Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures from the party!

I did get one snapped of Bo and Papa's goodbye before they left on Monday.  Thank you to my mom and dad for helping out with Bo while Josh and I got some major work done!!

This was a very long hug...he loves his papa.
Bo and I also got a mommy/son date at Pepperjax Grille while Josh was working late (until 3 in the morning!).  We had a busy evening finishing up with a bath and a bedtime story.

Take me out to the ball game!

Uncle Nick came up for a visit so Saturday we spent the day doing some things with him and grilled out that evening at our house.  Bo also got another haircut from Nick, we went a little shorter for summertime.  Thanks Uncle Nick!!

I had gotten some tickets from work to go to the afternoon ICubs game.  I wasn't sure the weather was going to let us, but it ended up being a beautiful afternoon.  Our seats were right on the first baseline.  It definitely would've been a good day to drink a couple brews and relax, but I guess Gatorade will do for now:).

There was a fountain that kids play in during the game so Josh and I took Bo up there a couple times, but he seemed more interested in the going up and down the stairs.  He had no problems getting a little wet!

Nick also surprised Bo with a new Cubs shirt and some Jordans!  Bo is pretty lucky to have him for an uncle.

had to throw this pic in....we go on lawn mower rides quite often at our house:).

Cousin playdates and Mother's Day

A little late on this post, but the weekend of Mother's Day we got in a little cousin time too.  We headed over to Josh's brother's house on Saturday for a couple hours so Owen and Bo could do some playtime.  The older they get the funner these playtimes get.  I love it!  They were giggling and laughing at eachother, it was so precious!

Love these boys!

Later on that afternoon my cousin, Amanda, brought her little girl over to play too!  Audrey is a couple months younger than Bo.

I failed to take any pictures of Mother's Day!!  But we actually did gifts the Friday before.  I got my mom a locket that says "Gramma" on the front and engraved her grandkids names on the back (we left some room for our growing family!).  Bo and Josh gave me more charms for my Pandora bracelet.  One was a bear wearing a blue bow tie (for Bo) and the other was actually two charms that fit together to make a heart, one says Mother and the other says Daughter, so I can give it to our little girl when she gets older for her own Pandora bracelet.  Thank you so much, Bo and Josh!

family day at the omaha zoo

Friday, May 10th we all headed to the omaha zoo for the day.  Gramma, Papa and even Uncle Nick were able to come.  We had planned this for quite awhile and were hoping for good weather and we got just that.  It ended up being a perfect day!  We got to the zoo around 11 and left at 430.  We were really excited for Bo to see the animals, but the thing he was most interested in was Papa's scooter (we saw that one coming!).  Bo rode with Papa most of the day, but I think his favorite part of the zoo was petting the goats.  He followed them everywhere!  Bo took a cat nap on the way up to the zoo and made it the whole day until 3pm!  I was impressed he lasted that long without napping.  He usually only takes one nap a day (around 1230 or 1).

It had been a years and years (probably 15 years) since I had been there and even longer since Josh and everyone had been.  We all had a great time and I can't wait to take both kiddos there one day!

Surprise Visit

This weekend Gramma and Papa decided to come up for a spur of the moment visit Saturday afternoon.  Bo was very excited to see them.  For Christmas they gave him a recordable story book with nursery rhymes and it has become Bo's favorite.  He loves listening to Gramma and Papa read to him when they can't be here.  So when they walked in the door he was so excited!

30 weeks

How far along? 30 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: finally hit the 20 lb mark!
Maternity clothes? Yes and wishing I could be just little more stylish, but only a couple more months of the mom clothes left!
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleep, what is that?  I now remember how pregnancy prepares you for the loss of sleep with a newborn.  It has been more and more difficult to breathe this week while lying down.  The doctor told me to sleep at a 30-45 degree angle, but let's be honest, if I did that I would get zero sleep!  My pelvic region has also been extremely sore.  Not only when I stand up, but also when I sit down.  So other than my tailbone hurting, my pelvic region pain and shortness of breathe I'm doing pretty good :)

Best moment this week: Bo started sleeping in his big boy bed on Sunday and he sleeps like a rock!  He loves his new room and new bed.  The room isn't quite finished yet, but once its completed then I will post some pictures!
Miss Anything?  I miss running.  I cannot wait to start running again.  I am going to plan on doing the Des Moines Half Marathon in October, so I have something to look forward to!  Running is such a stress reliever for me and with everything that happened in Boston I have more motivation to run for a reason!
Movement: Belly is all over the place.  She does not like to stay in one place.  Around 9PM she seems to be pretty active.  Josh can see my belly moving and he will say that she needs to get to bed.  Makes me chuckle everytime :).
Food cravings: Nothing really in particular.  Grape juice
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not that I can think of
Have you started to show yet: Ummmm...did you see the picture above??

Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? Definitely out!  You can see it sticking out in my pictures now and through all my clothes.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Extremely happy:)
Looking forward to: Seeing our baby girl again tonight.  We have another ultrasound tonight at Prenatal Visions (probably our last before we meet her!).  I am anxious to see who she looks like, if she will resemble her brother, how big she is and how much movement she will make!  I keep telling Bo that he is going to see his sissy tonight.  Watching them grow together is going to be so fun!

I have to stick a few pictures from the week in.

Playing outside on Sunday and going to the Park!

he loved the slide!

he was not a fan of the swing that day

running away from Dad

do they resember eachother...I think so!

Mr. Chesney

Last Saturday night Josh and I headed back to Wells Fargo Arena for the Kenny Chesney concert.  He is Josh's favorite artist, so we try to see him if he is in town.  We were actually going to try to go to KC to see him with Eric Church on June 15th, but that is cutting it a little too close to the baby's due date and thought we should probably stick around DSM.  Bo came a couple weeks early and we were told by the DR that we should probably be ready to go 3 weeks prior to my due date.

We met some friends down at a brewery for dinner and drinks prior to the concert.  Have I mentioned how I a missing adult beverages yet?? :)  We realized that we definitely have not been out enough by ourselves lately and need to plan a date night for the two of us.  Bo was excited because his favorite babysitter came for the evening.  He didn't even bat an eye when we left, so that's always a good sign that he is in good hands!

The concert was awesome and Kenny was pretty jacked up!  I don't think I had seen him perform with so much energy before (compared to the 5 times I have seen him prior!).  I enjoyed spending the night with my hubby and probably my favorite moment was when Kenny sang "Forever Feels" and Josh leaned in and told me, "this is what it feels like".  Love him so much! We are both so grateful for our family and everything that we have.  We are very fortunate to have found eachother.

long night for this mama!
